The Egmont Group is pleased to announce that after an extensive selection process, Michael Boole has been chosen by a panel of six Egmont members as the new ECOFEL Program Manager.
Michael’s exceptional qualifications and demonstrated expertise in financial intelligence management and training set him apart. We are confident that Michael will bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a passion for learning to our team.
With over 17 years of experience in Canada’s Financial Intelligence Unit, FINTRAC-CANAFE, Michael has held various leadership roles, most recently as an executive in the Tactical Financial Intelligence Sector. In this capacity, he supervised a team of AML/CFT professionals, emphasizing the importance of equity and inclusion in the program. Michael’s leadership extended to shaping the organization’s overall mandate and culture, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders domestically and internationally. He has a proven track record of leading change and implementing diverse initiatives to enhance knowledge in the AML/CFT space. Michael has experience developing and delivering AML/CFT training materials and workshops and developing an in-house e-learning platform. Recognized as a dynamic speaker and subject-matter expert in AML/CFT, Michael is enthusiastic about joining the Egmont Group, where he can apply his skills and experience in the position of Program Manager at ECOFEL, aligning with its mission to advance FIUs within their national and international spaces.
