The Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) will convene its 32nd Plenary meeting and associated Working and Regional Group meetings in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 5 to 10 July 2026.
Hosted by the Financial Monitoring Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the meetings will bring together FIU representatives from around the world to advance cooperation in the fight against money laundering, terrorist financing, and related financial crimes.
The Plenary serves as the Egmont Group’s principal decision‑making forum, providing an opportunity for Heads of FIU to engage in strategic dialogue, exchange expertise, and guide the Group’s priorities. In parallel, the Working and Regional Group meetings will support technical discussions and collaboration across key operational and policy areas.
The 2026 Plenary will include a thematic discussion focused on strengthening public‑private partnerships, reflecting the evolving nature of financial crime and the need for enhanced collaboration between FIUs and relevant stakeholders.
The Egmont Group is a network of FIUs dedicated to improving collaboration and the secure exchange of financial intelligence worldwide. Its work supports national and international efforts to detect, deter, and disrupt financial crime.
The meetings in Baku will contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen global cooperation, build operational capacity, and enhance the effectiveness of FIUs in addressing emerging threats.

About the Egmont Group

The Financial Monitoring Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established in February 2009. Financial Monitoring Service is a public legal entity to strengthen the capacity of government agencies, establish an effective coordination mechanism in this field, enhance cooperation and information exchange among competent authorities, and expand international cooperation in combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
