The Egmont Committee (EC) of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units met on 12 and 13 May 2026 in Krakow, Poland, for its Intersessional Meeting, bringing together Committee members to advance key governance, strategic, and operational priorities between Plenary sessions. The Egmont Group was honoured to welcome the Minister of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Domański, who delivered the opening remarks to the meetings and welcomed participants to Poland. Chaired by Elzbieta Frankow-Jaskiewicz, Chair of the Egmont Group, with the support of Vice Chairs Mohammed Shahid Ahmed and Daniel Thelesklaf, the meeting provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on the implementation of ongoing initiatives and preparations for upcoming Egmont activities.
EC members convened to discuss key strategic, governance, and operational issues in support of the Egmont Group’s ongoing priorities and forthcoming institutional milestones. Discussions focused on advancing implementation of the Egmont Group 2022–2027 Strategic Plan, guiding future strategic planning, and strengthening governance, and engagement across the network in preparation for upcoming Egmont Group activities. The EC is a vital consultation and coordination mechanism for the Egmont Group’s Heads of FIU, Working, and Regional Groups.
