On February 28th, 2023, the ECOFEL organized a successful and informative online workshop, “Cooperation and Information Sharing between FIUs, LEAs and Prosecutors,” for the participants from the Egmont Group’s West and Central Africa region. A series of presentations highlighted the field’s best practices.
Through the workshop, participants gathered a better understanding of enhancing the FIUs’ role in financial investigations, formal and informal mechanisms for cooperation between FIUs and LEAs, and best practices for information sharing. The ECOFEL welcomed the engagement of all the participants.
The ECOFEL team would like to thank its consultants, Mr. Klaudijo Stroligo and Mr. Muhammad Jiya, Associate Director, FIU Nigeria, for contributing to this successful event. We are grateful for sharing their vast knowledge in this field and for their interesting presentations. We look forward to continued cooperation in the future with the region.
