On March 10, 2021, the Egmont Centre of FIU Excellence and Leadership (ECOFEL) hosted a virtual workshop on “Public-Private Partnership on Financial Investigations into Wildlife Crime.” This event featured presentations from various financial institutions, FIUs, and international organizations from around the world.
Throughout the workshop, more than 370 professionals from 62 countries from financial intelligence units, law enforcement agencies, international organizations, banks, and other reporting entities learned about successful public-private partnerships established to combat the illicit financial flows linked to wildlife crime. Cooperation mechanisms, challenges to information sharing, and best practices for collaboration in wildlife crime investigations were also discussed.
The ECOFEL extends its gratitude to all presenters and panelists who provided attendees with valuable and practical information to strengthen partnerships in financial investigations into wildlife crime. The ECOFEL would also like to thank the participants for their engagement.
The ECOFEL looks forward to ongoing collaboration with FIUs and its stakeholders in the future!
