On August 23 and 24, 2021, the Egmont Centre of FIU Excellence and Leadership (ECOFEL) hosted a virtual workshop on “Improving SAR/STR Quality” for the Americas Region. During the 2-day event, AML/CFT expert Mariano Federici and Maximiliano Fernández Sarpi from UAF Chile shared presentations, answered questions, and discussed the quality of STRs in the region. The ECOFEL would like to thank all presenters, facilitators, and participants of the successful event.
This workshop is part of a global virtual workshop series aimed at improving the quality of STRs all over the world. Earlier this year, participants from the East and Southern Africa and Europe II Egmont Group Regions also came together to discuss suspicious transaction reporting. The ECOFEL looks forward organizing future events and providing resources to stakeholders pertaining to this important topic.
