The ECOFEL team is pleased to announce the release of a new eLearning course titled “Modern Slavery.”
This course has been developed in partnership with the Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAST) initiative. In this course, you will learn about the central role Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) play in the fight against the different forms of modern slavery. This includes a general introduction to modern slavery, its scale, and the definitions of its various forms. You will then learn about the importance of financial intelligence and learn the tools that can be used and ways in which FIUs can help combat modern slavery through concrete examples and good practices. Finally, remedy, financial inclusion, and sanctions in the context of modern slavery will be addressed.
We hope this course improves your knowledge and further enhances your skills.
By the end of this course, you will be able to understand:
- Why it is crucial to tackle modern slavery and how FIUs can play a more prominent role in this fight;
- How FIUs can better contribute to understanding modern slavery risks;
- What tools are necessary to better detect and analyze financial intelligence relating to modern slavery;
- The importance of collaboration with relevant stakeholders on national and international levels.
