The Egmont Group is proud to reaffirm its commitment to regional collaboration through active participation in the Forum of FIUs of GIABA Member States (FFIU-GMS) Annual Retreat, held in Accra, Ghana from November 1–3, 2025.
Representing the Egmont Group, , Vice-Chair and Regional Representative for West and Central Africa, played a leading role in several high-level sessions focused on FIU leadership, governance, and policy development. His contributions helped shape discussions around the evolving demands on FIU heads and the need for strategic foresight and ethical leadership in the fight against money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing.
Mr. Ahmed emphasized the importance of regional harmonization and collaborative resilience, noting that FIUs must adapt to increasingly complex threats through innovation and trust-based partnerships. His interventions highlighted how regional platforms like FFIU-GMS are vital for strengthening AML/CFT/CPF efforts across West Africa.
