Chair of Egmont Group delivers speech at the 41st Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime

Highlights from the Cambridge Symposium!

We are pleased to share that the Egmont Chair, Elżbieta Franków-Jaśkiewicz, delivered an impactful speech at the 41st Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime.

In her address, Mme. Franków-Jaśkiewicz emphasized the severe and far-reaching consequences of money laundering, terrorist financing, and predicate financial crime. She highlighted the importance of international cooperation and the role of Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) in combating these global threats. The Chair also highlighted the importance of asset recovery in combating financial crime and the pivotal role FIUs play in the asset recovery process.

During her address, Mme. Franków-Jaśkiewicz asserted, “International cooperation is not just a necessity but the cornerstone of effectively combating financial crimes. The strength of our global network lies in our unified commitment to transparency and accountability.”

The Egmont Group, with its 177 member FIUs, continues to support and enhance the capabilities of FIUs worldwide by facilitating the exchange of information, knowledge, and cooperation among member FIUs, as well as providing a platform for securely exchanging expertise and financial intelligence.
