From October 26 to 27, 2021, the Egmont Centre of FIU Excellence and Leadership (ECOFEL), in partnership with the MENAFATF Secretariat, will host an online workshop on “Improving SAR/STR Quality” for the Middle East and Northern Africa region.
During the two-day event, AML/CFT expert, Mr. Mariano Federici, will present, answer questions, and discuss how to improve the quality of suspicious transaction reports (STR) and suspicious activity reports (SAR) in the region.
This workshop is part of a global virtual workshop series aimed at improving the quality of STRs worldwide. Earlier this year, participants from the Egmont Group East and Southern Africa, Europe II and Americas regions also discussed suspicious transaction reporting. The ECOFEL looks forward to organizing further events and providing resources to FIUs, reporting entities and relevant stakeholders about this important topic.
